The Lafayette Police Department is taking bids on October 4th, 2018 for the Defensive Tactics Training Center. This project is a renovation of the existing metal building on the South side of the Precinct 4 property into a new defensive tactics training center. The work will include stripping the wall and roof panels off of the existing structure and replacing with new insulated metal panels and some brick veneer. The work will also include adding a small portion of building at the front of the structure to be clad with a Fiber reinforced Concrete panel rain screen and Curtain-wall entrance. The interior of the building will be wood construction with drywall walls, acoustical tile ceilings, drywall ceilings and open ceilings. The main training area will be surrounded by gymnasium padded walls and a rubber floor. The work will include new HVAC units, new Plumbing and new Electrical to and throughout the building. All work shall be completed in 300 working days.
