INDesign Awards 2014

Architects Beazley Moliere captures both Bronze and Silver at the 2014 INDesign Awards in Commercial Architecture. The INDesign Awards recognize exemplary projects in commercial and residential architecture, interior design, historic preservation and urban development from Lafayette and five of the surrounding parishes. The winners of the INDesign awards are recognized at the annual Awards Luncheon and lecture that kicks off INNOV8.

This year Architects Beazley Moliere received the Silver INDesign Commercial Architecture Award for the Professional Arts Pharmacy project. The Professional Arts Pharmacy is a compounding pharmaceutical production facility which provides products locally and across the nation. The 11,525 square foot building is divided into four distinct and secure areas: a business area; a dispensing pharmacy; compounding laboratory areas including clean room spaces for compounding of sterile preparations; and a shipping and receiving area. The front lobby area, as part of the business area, provides an open, modern and welcoming retail atmosphere, with a mixture of wood, metal and glass details to create a dynamic retail space that is more inviting than the typical big-box retail pharmacy.

Architects Beazley Moliere also won the Bronze Commercial Architecture Award for The Palmetto Club project. The Palmetto Club project was a complete renovation and improvement to a previously owned catering and banquet facility. The existing space was to be divided as necessary to provide a new leasable restaurant space and a separate new banquet facility. Heavy focus was put on the design of the exterior of the building in order to create an Architecture that stands out in the existing Oil Center landscape. The existing brickwork was repaired and “washed” with a stucco finish, the original single pane windows were replaced with new insulated storefront glazing systems, new horizontal tube latticework was applied across the entire facade of the building and new sculptural metal artwork was produced and installed to make this new restaurant, catering and banquet facility a stand-out on Heymann Blvd.
