The East Regional Lafayette Public Library is a branch library constructed to serve the Youngsville and Broussard communities. This 15,000 square foot library separates the public areas into individually identified pavilions.
Entering through a cantilevered canopy, the lobby extends across the ends of the public meeting spaces, the children’s collections and the adult collections, terminating in the teen reading area. Natural light fills the collections area through long clerestories along the sidewalls terminating in large open ends that provide full expansive views of the lawn beyond.
This new public library was completed in June of 2015 for a total construction cost of $5.2 million.
